The Russian manufacturer of domestic cars AvtoVAZ is going to temporarily suspend the production of its off-road line of Lada 4 × 4 cars. The automaker also announced some changes in the assembly of other car models.

Due to the large-scale automotive modernization of production in the city of Togliatti, AvtoVAZ announced some changes in the car assembly schedule.

“With the arrival of spring, the automaker began a new large-scale stage in preparing the production of new models and complete sets of cars,” the Russian automaker said. The list of new cars includes a new car Lada Kalina, which will be actively produced by AvtoVAZ in May 2013. And they will be able to buy it next month. The updated Lada Priora will also join the assembly line. In March, the production of the first model Lada Kalina was stopped, and in April the release of the updated model will work around the clock from Monday to Wednesday in three shifts. Also, three days a week, in only two shifts, a conveyor line will operate for the production of a phased update and modernization of Lada Priora.

In addition, within the framework of modernization, the Togliatti automobile plant intends to reach the planned production capacity of the Lada Largus and Nissan Almera models. Recall that these models are produced on the new B0 line, which is designed for cars built on the Renault-Nissan alliance platform. They will work here five days a week in three shifts, as well as on Saturday in two shifts.

Starting from April 27, the Lada 4 × 4 SUV auto production conveyor will not work for only one month. The reason for this was the preparation for the modernization of equipment for painting these machines.
