In 2013, Renault introduced the world to a new subcompact crossover - Renault Captur. The car received a bright and modern appearance, an attractive interior and good technical stuffing, which is why it came to the liking of motorists and became a real bestseller on the European market.

And in the summer of 2019, the company's management presented the second generation of the model, on which great hopes are pinned within the company. In comparison with its predecessor, the crossover has received evolutionary changes in appearance, a noticeably redesigned interior and modernized technical stuffing. Looking ahead, we note that the car has become even more modern, better quality and more technologically advanced, but first things first.

The appearance of the new Captur

As a result of the update, the Renault Captur has become slightly larger, and also received a more stylish and solid appearance.

The massive frontal part of the body flaunts a "saber-toothed" head optics, a spectacular false radiator grille, a massive front bumper with a large "mouth" of the air intake and a relief hood.

The dynamic profile shows the heavily tilted A-pillars, the sloping roofline, the elegant splash of the sidewalls and the upwardly billowing window line. It is also worth noting the presence of a protective plastic body kit located around the entire perimeter of the body.

The crossover feed looks stylish and aggressive thanks to the brace-shaped side lights and a massive rear bumper, complemented by a pseudo-diffuser and rear fog lights.

The external dimensions of the Renault Captur are as follows:

Length, mm4228
Width, mm1797
Height, mm1566
Wheelbase length, mm2639

This suggests that the car has become 106 mm longer and 19 mm wider. In addition, the length of the wheelbase has increased by 33 mm, which has a positive effect on the amount of free space in the cabin.

According to the manufacturer, there are as many as 90 combinations of body colors available to customers: 11 basic body colors, 4 different roof colors and 3 decorative design packages.

Salon Renault Captur 2020

Salon Renault Captur 2020 model year received a new front dashboard, improved materials and workmanship. The ergonomics of the driver's workplace, as before, does not raise any questions and does not require getting used to.

In front of the driver, the manufacturer installed a stylish three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a fully digital instrument panel, available in two diagonals - 7 and 10.2 inches.

In the central part of the front dashboard, a 7 or 9.3-inch touchscreen display of the EasyLink multimedia information center can be installed, and right below it there are three multifunctional "washers" through which the climate system is controlled. It is also worth noting that buyers can choose from 18 trim options and optional LED interior lighting (8 colors available).

Front riders are offered comfortable seats with excellent lateral support, a lot of adjustments and heating. They can easily accommodate a person of any build and height. Between the seats there is a small niche for small items, an armrest, a pair of cup holders and an electronic parking brake button.

The gear selector is located on the small "chin" of the center console. The rear sofa easily accommodates three passengers, which is facilitated by an increased distance of 17 mm between the front and rear seats. If necessary, the rear seats can move longitudinally by 160 mm, so that even a tall passenger can easily fit here.

The luggage compartment volume is 536 liters, which is 81 liters more than the car of the previous generation. It is also worth mentioning the fact that the Renault Captur has a large number of niches and shelves, the total volume of which reaches 27 liters.
